Studies were conducted to determine morphometric indices and condition factor ofBrycinus nurse obtained from Gubi dam. One hundred (100) specimens ofB. nursewere collected as samples from fishermen at different fish landing sites in the dam. The fish were immediately placed in a plastic container containing ice cubes and taken to laboratory of the Department of Animal Production of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Nigeria. Fourteen (14) morphometric measurements of B. nurse were recorded. Correlations between each pair of the morphometric indices were positive except for egg number (EN) with post-orbital length (r 2 = -0.1727) and caudal peduncle with EN (r2 = -0.1143). Generally, the correlations of EN with other morphometric indices were weak except for EN with egg weight that was strong and positive (r2 = 0.7942). The regression model equations of pairs of morphometric indices of B. nurse for 0.45 ≤r2 ≤ 1 can reliably predict the pairs of morphometric indices.Conditions of wellbeing of B. nurse in Gubi dam were moderate and the fish species were faring wellwith mean K-value of 1.
