Abstract

Studies were conducted to evaluate the response of broilers fed wheat offal meal (WO) based diets with or without enzyme (Anazyme Forte ®) supplementation. One hundred and forty-four, 7day-old Anak (unsexed) broiler chicks were randomly divided into six groups of 24birds each. The design of the experiment was in a 3x2 factional in a completely randomized design (CRD). The test ingredient (WO) was at three levels (20, 30 and 40 %) of the diet while the enzyme was at two levels (0 and 0.05%). Each treatment was replicated three times with 8 birds per replicate. Birds were fed feed and water ad libitum. Results showed that there was significant (P<0.05) interaction between enzyme and WO on average daily weight gain (ADWG). Enzyme supplementation significantly (P<0.05) improved ADWG, feed conversion ratio (FCR) average daily protein intake (API) and protein efficiency ratio (PER).The experimental period was 7weeks, and no mortality recorded. It was concluded that WO could be included in the diet of broilers up to 40% without adverse effect on performance of broilers
