Abstract

The remoteness of nomadic people have made them to narrow animal care delivery to traditional methods due to expensiveness and unavailability or modern veterinary drugs in addition to resistance of certain infectious diseases to those drugs compared to traditional remedies (plants and animal origin) that can be accessed easily and at lower cost. The Nigeria government should therefore, develop policies that will validate the claims of traditional livestock owners so as to develop viable veterinary and even human drugs for the support of animal and public health which in the end may generate substantial revenue for the government and source of employment to the youth as a forward to improving economy.
