Résumé

Phenotypic variation among indigenous sheep population in Anambah State Nigeria was investigated. Three agricultural zones were selected purposively and a total of 80indigenous sheep were randomly selected for the study. Qualitative traits measured include coat color pattern, Coat hair, presence/absence of ruff, presence/absence of horn. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequencies and percentages. The qualitative trait results showed that Black color was dominant (52.50%) in both sexes for coat color pattern. Horn and ruff were sex dependent. All (100%) of the ewes were polled and all rams (100%) were horned. Short and smooth coat hair type was predominantly among ewes and rams (97%).
